Key Features
- Cell-Shaded Anime Finish – The hand-applied paint scheme uses bold outlines and flat colors, mimicking 2D animation. Why it matters: this finish resists fading better than standard cerakote when carried daily, and you won’t see another one at the range.
- Shark Coast Tactical Komodo Grip Module – Textured front strap, aggressive side panels, and an integrated magwell. Why it matters: you get a locked-in grip under recoil without adding bulk that prints under a shirt.
- Optic-Ready Slide with Black Compensated Barrel – The slide is cut for RMSc-pattern red dots, and the barrel has a fixed compensator port. Why it matters: you gain faster follow-up shots and a lower bore axis, all without threading or adding a separate comp.
- Night Sights – Tritium front and rear glow for low-light identification. Why it matters: if your dot fails, you still have a precise aiming reference at night.
- Double-Stack Magazines (2 included) – 12-round capacity in the same footprint as single-stack 9mm. Why it matters: you carry more ammo without upsizing your holster or belt.
Who It’s For
This is for the CCW holder who wants a reliable, compensated carry gun but is tired of black-on-black. If you carry appendix or strong-side, the Komodo grip’s reduced width and aggressive texture give you control without snagging cover garments. It also fits shooters who want a ready-to-run optic host—just add an RMSc footprint dot and you’re set.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: True drop-in compensated barrel reduces muzzle flip; the cell-shaded finish holds up to holster wear better than expected; night sights are factory-zeroed; grip texture works even with sweaty hands; ships with two 12-round mags.
- Cons: The painted finish is unique but may chip if you use abrasive holsters—stick to kydex; the fixed comp adds about 0.5 inches to barrel length, so holster compatibility is limited to P365X compensated models; no optic included, which adds $200+ to your total.
Comparison
| Feature | Sig Sauer Komodo Anime P365X CMP | Zev Technologies OZ9C | Agency Arms P365 X-Comp |
|---|---|---|---|
| Caliber | 9mm | 9mm | 9mm |
| Barrel Length | 3.7″ (with comp) | 4.0″ | 3.7″ |
| Weight (unloaded) | ~18.5 oz | ~22 oz | ~19 oz |
| Optic Cut | RMSc (no plate needed) | RMR (plate required) | RMSc (no plate needed) |
| Finish | Cell-shaded anime paint | Black DLC | Black nitride |
| Magazines | 2 x 12-round | 2 x 17-round | 2 x 12-round |
| Street Price | $940.80 | $1,100+ | $1,050+ |
The Komodo Anime hits a lower price point than the Zev or Agency builds while matching their optic cut and capacity. The Zev runs heavier due to a steel grip module, and the Agency lacks the fixed comp that comes standard here.
FAQ
Will this fit my P365X holster?
It fits holsters molded for the P365X with a compensator or the P365X compensated model. Standard P365X holsters work only if the bottom is open. We recommend holsters from Tier 1 Concealed or Vedder that list P365X compensated compatibility.
What optics fit this slide?
The slide is cut for RMSc footprint optics—Holosun 407K/507K, Sig Sauer Romeo Zero, Swampfox Sentinel, and similar. It does not accept RMR or DPP footprints without an adapter plate (not included).
Does the compensated barrel require special ammo?
No. It cycles standard 115- and 124-grain 9mm FMJ and JHP loads. Per Sig Sauer specs, the comp is designed for 9mm NATO pressure levels, but you can run any factory ammunition without issue.
Is the finish durable for daily carry?
Yes, but it’s painted, not cerakoted. It holds up to normal holster wear if you use smooth-sided kydex. Avoid rough leather or hybrid holsters that can abrade the artwork. The base color under the paint is green/gold, so minor wear looks intentional.
