Serial number 4761. Made in 1861. 44 caliber with an 8” barrel. This is a nice sharp example of a fluted army with a smooth even gray patina throughout. The left hand side of the muzzle has one spot of pitting. The grips are excellent. This gun is pre civil war. This gun is cut for stock and has the four screw frame. Some of these guns have very interesting shipping addressed including Southern purchases. The action is very crisp and indexes perfectly. This is a fine example of a fluted army!
