Japanese Koishikawa Arsenal Type 38 Carbine 6.5x50mm

Serial no. 50088. Manufactured circa the early 1900s at Koishikawa Arsenal, chambered in 6.5x50mm Japanese, 19″ round barrel. Bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are non-matching. Of particular interest, the Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) remains intact on the receiver, adding considerably to the carbine’s collector appeal. The stock shows expected handling and service impressions, with the name “ALBERT” lightly carved into the right side, giving this example a distinctive individual character The Type 38 Carbine’s compact configuration and early Koishikawa manufacture make it a desirable variation of the Japanese Arisaka family, particularly when encountered with its Imperial mum still present. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
