Made circa 19th century, measuring 4 ½” wide by 4” tall. This style of cartridge box was used throughout the Ottoman Empire, with this example likely being of Greek origin. The front and sides are engraved with a floral pattern, while the top lid is missing its original decoration. A very good representative example of regional Ottoman military cartridge box.
